The existing school street zone in Harlesden will expand to include additional roads, enhancing pedestrian and cycle safety for local schools and their communities.
With the amendments, vehicles that are not exempt will be prohibited from entering the school zone during peak hours, enhancing safety during critical drop-off and pick-up times.
The hours of restriction will also be modified, starting an hour earlier in the morning to help better manage traffic flow during school-related hours.
Brent Council has characterized the implementation of these changes as 'experimental', suggesting they will assess the impact and effectiveness over time.
