Police update one week after staff stabbed at Stepney Green Asda

The victim, a 30-year-old man, was found with stab wounds to his thigh at the supermarket in Anchor Retail Park. He was treated at the scene and later taken to a major trauma center. Fortunately, his injuries were assessed as non-life-threatening and non-life-changing.
Following the incident, an Asda spokesperson confirmed, 'We are in contact with our colleague and are providing ongoing support to him. Our thoughts are with him, as well as any colleagues or customers that witnessed this incident.' They also reiterated their commitment to advocate for violence against retail workers to be treated as a standalone criminal offense.
