The Metropolitan Police have said officers are 'unclear' if the cause of a major fire at a church hall in Romford was arson.
When asked if the cause of the fire is being treated as arson, the spokesperson said: 'Unclear as yet. Enquiries into the cause of the fire are ongoing.'
The update on the investigation into the cause comes as new aerial photos of the damage to the roof have emerged.
The hall also sustained damage to the ground floor, first floor and roof, with the latter visible in the photos. Police and the LFB are jointly investigating the cause of the blaze, LFB said.
