At around 4:05am on 27 October, six fire engines and around 40 firefighters fought a fire on Plaistow Lane, fully destroying the first floor and damaging half of the ground floor.
Later that evening, at approximately 9:50pm, another significant fire occurred on Orchard Road, where most of the ground floor and all of the first floor were consumed by flames.
Police confirmed they are keeping an open mind about the potential connection between the two fires, as investigations run concurrently for both incidents.
A spokesperson from the London Fire Brigade stated: 'The usage of a 32-metre turntable ladder at the Orchard Road fire was essential in combating the blaze effectively.'
