On Friday evening (October 18), police were called to reports of a man threatening members of the public on Sutton High Street. Officers arrived quickly, identified the suspect, and he attempted to flee. After a brief foot chase across Throwley Way and onto the Benhill Estate, police detained him. Further checks revealed he was wanted for other offenses, leading to additional arrests.
A spokesperson for Sutton MPS commended the prompt response of the officers and extended gratitude to the public. They stated that without the reports from local residents helping to identify the suspect's location, a dangerous individual might still be on the loose.
