Around 60 firefighters and eight fire engines responded to a blaze in a flat on Brookhill Road, Woolwich, battling the fire for 98 minutes.
Fire crews were alerted at 3:52am, and by 5:22am, the fire was under control, with two individuals receiving treatment from ambulance services at the scene.
The London Fire Brigade utilized a 32-metre turntable ladder as an observation tower to effectively combat the flames from a higher vantage point.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation as emergency services worked to ensure the safety of the scene and surrounding areas.
