Over 100 Croydon bus shelters to return after no covers for over 4 years
Briefly

Croydon Council has entered a £3.2 million agreement with Transport for London (TfL) for new bus shelters, following a problematic 2021 contract that removed around 100 existing shelters without replacements. The deal will provide over 100 new bus shelters at no cost to Croydon, with installation expected by March. This initiative aims to enhance local travel infrastructure and encourage public transport use, addressing previous shortcomings that affected residents' travel experiences, particularly in areas like Norbury where residents voiced concerns over the lack of shelters.
These new bus shelters will provide much needed travel infrastructure to the residents of Croydon and we're delighted to be installing these new shelters.
The new TfL deal will replace the 99 shelters removed by Croydon following its decision to explore a contract with another provider, Valo Smart City UK.
