Man rushed to hospital after alleged stabbing assault in Co Cork as gardai arrest suspect

A man in his early 30s was stabbed in an apparently unprovoked attack in Cobh, Cork, shortly before 6pm on Tuesday, sustaining non-life threatening injuries.
The assailant, a man in his 50s, fled the scene on foot but has since been arrested as part of the ongoing investigation into the incident.
Emergency services arrived quickly at the scene, and members of the public provided assistance to the injured man before he was transported to Cork University Hospital.
GardaĆ­ are currently investigating the assault, speaking with witnesses, reviewing CCTV footage, and awaiting the injured man's medical recovery to interview him.
