Man arrested after five people injured in stabbing near Asda in Croydon

A man was arrested in Croydon after a stabbing incident that left five people injured near an Asda store on Thursday morning. Police responded to calls reporting the incident at Marlowe Way, where ambulance crews treated five individuals, including sending one person to a major trauma center in London. The injuries were not life-threatening for one 54-year-old man who was transported to a hospital. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the stabbings.
We were called at 10.21am this morning (Thursday January 23) to reports of a stabbing incident in Marlowe Way, Croydon. We sent a number of resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer, members of our Tactical Response Unit and London's Air Ambulance.
A 54-year-old man who was taken to hospital had received non-life threatening injuries, the Metropolitan Police said.
