Transport for London (TfL) plans to significantly expand the Superloop rapid bus network, with Transport Commissioner Andy Lord hoping to launch the first new routes before the end of the year. The current Superloop service, which helps Londoners travel in outer boroughs without entering central London, has been well received. The upcoming Superloop 2 initiative aims to add 10 new routes, including the 'Bakerloop' to enhance southeast London's transport connectivity, reflecting a commitment to improving public transport options across the city.
The Superloop 2 was promised in Sadiq Khan's mayoral election manifesto last year, and this week there's been an update. Transport for London commissioner Andy Lord has said he hopes the first Superloop 2 services will launch before the end of the year.
We'll be doing that shortly. I can't give you any details at the minute, but we're very excited about the next routes. The Superloop has seen a huge benefit in terms of the increase in ridership, increasing people's awareness of our bus services.
