Jaiden Shehata, a schoolboy, was fatally struck by a train on January 23 while crossing at Bourneview footpath in Croydon. The train was reported to be traveling at approximately 50 mph at the time of the incident. While the British Transport Police indicated that the incident was not suspicious, the Rail Accident Investigation Branch has launched an independent investigation to understand the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
