Cunningham, an award-winning painter who recently wrapped a solo show at Lisson Gallery in Los Angeles, disappeared after a night out and was quickly flagged as missing.
Prior to the discovery of the body, friends described Cunningham as a 'beloved' friend, last seen wearing a black dress and Converse sneakers.
The police, who retrieved a body from railway tracks beside Chalk Farm station, confirmed that Cunningham's death is being treated as unexpected but not suspicious.
