A huge waste fire in London has caused a road to shut due to the resulting traffic chaos and heavy smoke, prompting nearby residents to close their windows.
The fire, which involved about 500 tonnes of waste, took hours to be put out and resulted in the closure of Nobel Road between Thornton Road and Kynoch Road.
Despite the significant smoke generated, there were no reports of injuries from the blaze, with London Fire Brigade officers remaining on scene to manage the aftermath.
