Huge tree causes 'mayhem' after falling across main road during storm
Briefly

The tree fell right at the start of rush hour during a freak storm. It was mayhem. Fortunately no one was hurt, but the carcass of the tree and canopy blocked traffic both ways on Tottenham Lane.
It narrowly missed the 150-year-old Hornsey Historical Society building but a metal street sign was destroyed. Luckily, there were passing tree surgeons to clear the branches before the fire brigade arrived.
Everyone was pleased the building wasn't damaged as the headquarters are there. Haringey Council and the London Fire Brigade responded quickly to this incident.
