A fire which broke out on the 10th floor at a block of flats in Sydenham is being investigated following a significant emergency response from the London Fire Brigade.
The London Fire Brigade received over 20 calls about the fire, mobilizing ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters, who effectively contained the blaze by 5:20pm.
One man was rescued from the 10th floor of the flat, reported to be in distress, utilizing a fire escape hood while being assisted by firefighters.
Residents were advised to keep their windows and doors closed due to heavy smoke from the fire, underlining the urgent nature of the situation.
