Around 60 firefighters responded to a significant fire at a block of flats in Hammersmith, west London, which led to the tragic loss of two cats.
The London Fire Brigade reported that eight fire engines were deployed to the incident shortly before 6pm, responding to 20 emergency service calls about the blaze.
Firefighters managed to control the blaze by 6.43pm, having received their first emergency call at 5.48pm—indicating the swift response of the emergency services.
Emergency services from various local fire stations, including Acton, Chiswick, and Kensington, collaborated in tackling the fire, which destroyed part of a fifth-floor flat.
