A total of eight fire engines from Kentish Town, West Hampstead, Paddington, and other fire stations were called to the scene, which has prompted some travel disruption on the roads surrounding the hospital.
The Brigade used one of their 32-metre ladders to tackle the blaze from above, confirming that the site was now under control.

Although the fire is under control, traffic congestion may continue around Hampstead. Earlier in the day, traffic reports noted heavy traffic on Fleet Road between Cressy Road and South End Green.
