Around 100 firefighters are currently engaged in a significant blaze at London's Somerset House, where flames have been reported emerging from the roof structure.
The London Fire Brigade has mobilized numerous resources, deploying fifteen fire engines and two 32m ladders to effectively combat the fire incident.
The public area around Somerset House has been entirely closed off as firefighting efforts proceed, with traffic disruptions expected in the vicinity.
As the cause of the fire remains unknown, fire wardens have guided people away from the premises to designated assembly points for safety.
