Officers from Thames Valley Police responded to the incident involving a 54-year-old man wielding a crossbow, resulting in an officer being shot and a man in his sixties being stabbed.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder with potentially life-changing injuries while the injured officer and assault victim were taken to the hospital.
Residents reported hearing loud arguments between the suspect and his neighbors prior to the incident, with armed police arriving at the scene in Downley, north of High Wycombe.
Assistant chief constable Tim Metcalfe confirmed one officer was shot in the leg with a crossbow, emphasizing support for the injured officer, assault victim, and affected individuals within the force.
