Witnesses have been asked to come forward after the incident on platform three at Ealing Broadway station on November 24, at 12.07am, where a passenger's hand was trapped in the train doors. The train departed while the passenger's hand was still trapped, leading to a harrowing ordeal where the passenger was forced to run alongside the train for several metres before being rescued by a railway staff member.
The Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) stated that the driver was alerted by other passengers, which allowed for the train to stop after moving 17 metres. This incident emphasizes the critical need for awareness and quick communication in ensuring safety at train stations. Fortunately, the passenger suffered only minor injuries, highlighting the importance of effective staff response during emergencies.
