A new £4.75 million research centre is set to open at the Royal London Hospital to expedite access to advanced treatments for patients from eight east London hospitals. The collaboration between Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, Barts Health NHS Trust, and Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust aims to increase clinical trial participation while addressing healthcare inequalities among diverse groups. Expected to launch in April, the facility is predicted to double patient recruitment for trials and streamline the study setup process over the next three years.

BHRUT chief medical officer Andrew Deaner expressed excitement about increasing clinical research and helping diverse patient groups access advanced treatments through the new facility.
