Sir Ian McKellen, after a stage fall resulting in injuries, plans to take the rest of the year off to recover and reflect on his acting career.
The actor, now 85, shared that the fall—sustaining a chipped vertebrae and fractured wrist—has left him feeling physically weak and concerned about aging.
He stated, 'Of course, it's emotional. We all trip all our lives, it's just when you get to my age you can't always get up again.'
Despite his injuries, McKellen mentioned that he's not taking time off due to necessity, but rather to reflect and consider his future plans.
