The South Carolina Supreme Court ruled that the choice of three execution methods-electrocution, firing squad, or lethal injection-does not violate the state constitution.
Justice John Cannon Few stated that providing a choice of execution methods does not constitute cruel or unusual punishment as inmates have the option to select the method they believe will cause them the least pain.
