N.Y. court won't block Nassau County's anti-trans sports law
Briefly

A Nassau County judge has upheld the enforcement of an anti-transgender sports law while a lawsuit by the NYCLU is active. The judge denied a request for a preliminary injunction, stating that the law does not discriminate against transgender individuals and that biological differences justify the regulations enacted. The law was initially prompted by an executive order that prohibited transgender girls and women from competing on female teams, which was previously struck down in court. The Roller Rebels, a roller derby league supporting trans inclusion, are at the center of the lawsuit advocating for their right to use county facilities.
"The Court has reviewed the Plaintiff's arguments and does not find that Local Law 121-24 excludes transgender women and girls from the public facilities based on their gender identity and the Plaintiffs have not shown discrimination under the Human Rights Law and the Civil Rights Law."
"There can be no question (even without discovery) that a biological male regardless of transitioning would be possessed of greater athleticism and speed, strength, muscle mass, stronger hearts and greater bone density."
