Identification rates among adults are similar across regions, ranging from 0.7 percent in the South to 0.9 percent in the Northeast. California has the largest number of trans people by population (263,700) but a lower share of its population (0.86 percent). Several states show higher per-capita rates, including Utah and Tennessee (1.01 percent), Nebraska (1.04 percent), Washington (1.07 percent), and Massachusetts (1.10 percent).
