The Rainbow Youth Project reports a surge in calls to its hotline coinciding with Trump's inaugural address, reflecting heightened anxiety among LGBTQ+ youth about potential discrimination.
'As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders: male and female,' Trump declared, outlining a broader agenda against LGBTQ+ rights.
According to the Williams Institute, 1.3 million Americans identify as transgender, including 300,000 youth, who are particularly vulnerable to mental health challenges and systemic discrimination.
