Gay trans man with cerebral palsy blasts 'transphobia and ableism'
Briefly

Trans activist Leo Aces has vehemently condemned the intense harassment faced by transgender teenager Micah Leroy, who shared his transition journey online. Despite Leroy expressing joy about being almost a month post-operation, his video garnered a wave of anti-trans sentiment, exacerbated by recent changes in Meta’s policy on free speech. Aces, who shares a similar disability with Leroy, emphasized the harmful stereotypes regarding the agency of disabled individuals, highlighting the urgent need for broader discussions on the visibility of both gender identity and physical disabilities in society.
I believe the timing of his post, coinciding with Meta's free-speech changes and the run-up to the presidential inauguration, unfortunately led to a toxic storm of transphobia and ableism.
Talking from personal experience as an activist and awareness speaker, who is also a trans man with cerebral palsy, I am horrified by the overall reaction Micah's video has received.
