The Biggest Los Angeles Restaurant Openings in February 2026
"After ending his last residency in November 2025, chef Anthony Plascencia took over a former East Los Angeles beauty salon to open the first permanent home of Mariscos Los Corchos on February 7. It's a family-run operation with a menu that remains a warm, coastal Mexican celebration of summers spent in Playa Los Corchos and of the Plascencia family's hometown of Puerta de Mangos in Nayarit, Mexico."
"Celebrated Swedish chef Marcus Jernmark debuted a fresh California-centric restaurant in the former Pico-Robertson Bicyclette space on February 12. The 42-seat Lielle showcases a simple four-course menu designed to shift with the seasons, all for $150 per person. Jernmark was a partner and owner of New York's Aquavit before a stint at chef Thomas Keller's Per Se in 2014."
"Plascencia also leans into sustainable practices such as using the entire fish to make a rich, oceanic consommé. The menu spans whole barbecued Mexican pargo (sea bream) or barramundi, spicy shrimp and fish tostadas, along with crab tinga tostadas, with fresh tortillas."
Los Angeles continues to see significant restaurant activity with multiple notable debuts. Chef Anthony Plascencia opened Mariscos Los Corchos, a family-run seafood restaurant celebrating coastal Mexican cuisine from Nayarit, featuring whole barbecued fish and sustainable practices. Swedish chef Marcus Jernmark launched Lielle, a 42-seat California-centric restaurant offering seasonal four-course menus at $150 per person, with plans for sister restaurant Marée. Jernmark brings extensive experience from prestigious establishments including New York's Aquavit and Per Se. Additionally, Koreatown's Liu's Cafe expanded with a new Westwood location, maintaining its original menu offerings.
