"We're very excited about being on Ventura Boulevard. It's in the heart of an area that had a lot of musical talent, and actors and historical figures that have had a lasting impact. So we were excited to get in the heart of all of that," said Nico Solomon, area leader for Raising Cane's.
"We like to pay homage to where we're at and it's fun," Solomon said. The new location will feature graphics and memorabilia that pay homage to the entertainment industry including framed movie posters of the film 'Gone with the Wind,' which was partially filmed in the nearby area.
The new location will not have a drive-thru but will offer a bigger interior and in time people will be able to order from their cars and have the food brought out to them.
Launched in Louisiana in 1996 and named after the founder's Labrador Retriever Cane, the restaurant has made a name for itself and developed a bit of a cult following by keeping things simple and serving chicken fingers, fries, coleslaw, thick Texas toasts and its sweet dipping sauce.
