Pi Day falls on Thursday, March 14 this year. The holiday pays tribute to Pi, a Greek letter and what mathematicians call the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter.
Some restaurants that sell circular foods, usually pizza parlors, have used the holiday as a promotion, often involving the price $3.14. Some restaurants that sell fruit pies also get into the act.
