Fan-favorite poke returns in Silver Lake with a new space
Briefly

Ohana Superette has reopened in Silver Lake, bringing authentic poke bowls crafted with ginger-and-soy-marinated tuna, garlicky poached shrimp, and fresh kimchi. The poke shop was originally launched in 2015 by Eric and Miriam Park following their family visits to Hawaii. After closing during the pandemic, they sought to reestablish their brand, transforming a former hair salon into their new dining space. The menu features customizable bowls served on short-grain Koshihikari rice or seaweed salad, emphasizing traditional preparation and quality ingredients.
Ohana Superette, the casual, daytime-only poke shop from husband-and-wife team Eric and Miriam Park, recently returned with its own space and thoughtful, traditional poke.
Scoops of ginger-and-soy-marinated tuna, garlicky poached shrimp, macaroni salad and ponzu glass noodles rest on short-grain Koshihikari rice or seaweed salad.
Ohana Superette's first iteration launched in 2015, inspired by the Parks' frequent family visits to Hawaii, and the operation ran as half of a dual concept out of their former sandwich shop, Black Hogg.
After the hair salon next door closed, the couple took two years to permit and convert the space into a restaurant, adding wood paneling and marble accents.
