Hernández signed a one-year deal with the Dodgers last offseason hoping to re-establish his value on the free agent market. He did that and more, clubbing a career-high 33 home runs with 99 runs batted in and an OPS of .840. Hernández came in clutch numerous times throughout the year, including in the postseason, when he hit three home runs and had an OPS of .769. He also was great in the clubhouse and locker room, always bringing the energy and good vibes.
"My hopes are really high," Hernández said of re-signing. "Like I've said before, the Dodgers are the priority obviously. I'm going to do everything in my power to come back." Hernández got emotional at the World Series parade while addressing the L.A. fans. "That's how much I care, how much I appreciate everything that's happened in my career so far and I just want to keep it going here."
