Anthony Banda: Coaching Makes The Dodgers 'Special'
Briefly

Anthony Banda, acquired by the Dodgers early in the 2024 season from the Cleveland Guardians, transformed into a key bullpen arm with a significant improvement in performance. Before joining the Dodgers, Banda had struggled, posting a high ERA, but under their guidance, he recorded a 3.08 ERA and improved his strikeouts. The Dodgers have a history of reviving players discarded by other teams, crediting their front office and coaching staff's ability to connect with players, adjust their techniques, and utilize analytics effectively.
After the Dodgers acquired Banda, they re-worked his slider, focusing more on the pronation of his arm. They also used a slow-motion camera to help him visually see the changes needed.
Banda is not the first success story for the Dodgers as they have often got the most out of players whom other teams had already given up on.
