Snowflake enables MFA across all new user accounts
Briefly

Snowflake is committed to enhancing its users' cybersecurity by making multi-factor authentication (MFA) the default for new accounts, responding to recent data breaches.
The incidents investigated by Mandiant revealed a troubling pattern: clients experiencing data theft did not have MFA enabled, raising serious security concerns.
MFA will now be enforced by default for all human users in any Snowflake account created from October 2024, as part of enhanced security measures.
In addition to MFA, password policies are tightening; the minimum length is increased to 14 characters, preventing reuse of the last five passwords.
