PowerSchool discloses breach affecting hosted and self-hosted school k-12 districts

PowerSchool disclosed that on December 28, it had become aware of a data breach that affected some, but not all, of its clients, mainly through unauthorized access to customer data via a support portal.
Importantly, the incident is contained, and we have no evidence of malware or continued unauthorized activity in the PowerSchool environment, assuring clients that they can expect no operational disruptions.
