Check Point to Acquire AI Security Firm Lakera

"Check Point Software Technologies today announced plans to acquire Lakera, a Zurich and San Francisco-based company specializing in security for Agentic AI applications. The announcement comes on the same day that CrowdStrike announced plans to acquire AI security firm Pangea, and reflects growing enterprise demand for safeguarding generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and autonomous agents as they become embedded in enterprise operations."

Founded by AI researchers with backgrounds at Google and Meta, Lakera has developed products including Lakera Red (for pre-deployment posture assessments) and Lakera Guard (for runtime enforcement). The company emphasizes continuous red teaming and runtime protection against issues like prompt injection and data leakage. Its approach is reinforced by Gandalf, a large adversarial AI network used for training defenses."
