The Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry, a celebrated medieval illuminated manuscript, will be the focus of a major exhibition at the Château de Chantilly from June to October 2025. Known for its 121 illuminations created by the Limbourg brothers, the manuscript merges Flemish, French, and Italian artistic influences. Due to its fragility, it has been rarely displayed, but recent restoration allows for 26 pages to be exhibited in climate-controlled cases, with digital flipbooks available for visitors. This event will explore the manuscript's history and the Duke of Berry's influence on art and culture.
The exhibition provides a rare opportunity to see the Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry, an extraordinary manuscript, displayed in unprecedented detail.
Thanks to meticulous restoration funded by the TEFAF Museum Restoration Fund, 26 unbound pages will be exhibited in climate-controlled cases.
