My $30,000 health insurance claim was denied. Then I tweeted about it
Briefly

In December 2016, the author faced a health crisis due to severe electrolyte abnormalities that led to hospitalization. Despite receiving necessary treatment for dangerously low calcium, magnesium, and potassium levels, Aetna denied the insurance claim as "not medically necessary." The author, frustrated and unable to resolve the matter easily, took to social media to express their grievance. This unexpected action led to a timely response from Aetna, who recognized the error in denying the claim. The denial was subsequently reversed, highlighting the potential of social media in addressing customer service issues with insurers.
