Matthew Wootten, 44, deliberately crashed into the oak Victory Gate of Chequers, causing over £38,000 in damage and injuring himself after a night of heavy drinking.
Wootten had a blood alcohol level that was more than 2.5 times the legal limit, demonstrating a severe disregard for the law and safety.
