Report: Ultraprocessed foods now account for 2/3rds of teens' diet

Children and teens in the United States now get more than two-thirds of their calories from ultraprocessed foods, according to research published in JAMA.
But many ultra-processed foods are less healthy, with more sugar and salt, and less fiber, than unprocessed and minimally processed foods.
The increase in consumption of ultraprocessed foods by children and teenagers is concerning.
