Deadly food allergies are on the rise among children. The cause isn't what you might think | Devi Sridhar
Briefly

In recent years, we have seen a rise in fatal food allergies, with tragic cases like that of Hannah Jacobs and Natasha Ednan-Laperouse highlighting the urgency for change.
A study published in the Lancet Public Health revealed that food allergies in children have doubled from 2008 to 2018, prompting discussions on dietary introductions and allergen management.
Experts suggest the increase in food allergies might be due to several factors, including lifestyle changes and a lack of early exposure to common allergens.
While awareness and reporting of food allergies are increasing, the actual incidence from 2014 onwards seems to have plateaued, indicating potential stabilization in these trends.
