Public health officials are tasked with effectively communicating during crises amidst misinformation, requiring a solid understanding of behavior and rigorous practice, as emphasized by Danielle Eiseman.
"There was a lot of backlash about communications during the pandemic... It presented health officials with a significant challenge, especially if they had to wait for information from the state or the CDC," explained Eiseman.
The two-day training course, drawing together state and local public health officials, focuses on communicating to diverse audiences and practicing crisis response techniques extensively.
Eiseman highlights the necessity for public health officials to master language, behavior, and scientific knowledge to communicate effectively in health emergencies.
