The Return of Digg, a Star of Web 2.0
Briefly

In 2005, Alexis Ohanian and Steve Huffman targeted Digg while promoting their platform, Reddit. Over the last two decades, while various tech projects flourished and faltered, Digg declined significantly. Recently, Kevin Rose repurchased Digg, planning to reinvent it alongside Ohanian. They believe the current state of social media, characterized by upheaval and competition from platforms like X and TikTok, presents an opportunity for Digg's return, advocating for a more collaborative rather than adversarial approach in the tech sphere.
In the summer of 2005, Alexis Ohanian, a tech entrepreneur, sent an email to his colleague Steve Huffman with an ominous subject line: Meet the enemy.
Digg, which went from popular to not, all but died. On Wednesday, Mr. Rose announced that he had bought back Digg for an undisclosed sum from Money Group.

This is the perfect time to revisit this idea with fresh eyes, Mr. Rose, 48, now a venture capitalist at True Ventures, said in an interview.
