Volkswagen, Audi Recall 60,000 EVs Over Rollaway Risk
Briefly

Volkswagen Group is recalling 60,490 electric vehicles in the U.S., including the 2021-2023 Volkswagen ID.4 and 2022-2023 Audi Q4 E-Tron, due to a software failure that may prevent the correct gear selection from displaying, posing a risk of rollaway accidents. Though only 1% of vehicles are impacted, the software defect may mislead drivers about the vehicle’s actual transmission position. A dealer-applied software update is necessary to address the issue, and affected owners will be notified to arrange for this fix. This marks the 11th recall for ID.4 and the 5th for the Q4 E-Tron.
