Assassin's Creed Shadows couldn't beat Valhalla, but it's officially the second-biggest launch in series history
Briefly

Assassin's Creed Shadows, Ubisoft’s latest action RPG, has performed well since its launch, with over 2 million players engaging within the first two days. An internal memo indicated record levels of engagement and received positive feedback from players. The game achieved the second-best day one sales revenue for the franchise, only surpassed by Valhalla, and had the best day one launch for Ubisoft games on the PlayStation Store. Notably, Shadows was also released on Steam concurrently, contributing to 27% of its player base, reflecting strong performance across platforms.
Whether or not Assassin's Creed Shadows is the game Ubisoft needs it to be remains to be seen, but the action RPG has apparently done pretty well for the publisher.
According to new information, however, Shadows has had a solid launch, if a little less headline-worthy.
Sources also told the outlets that Shadows has had the second-best day one sales revenue for any Assassin's Creed, sitting just behind Valhalla.
Ubisoft also noted in the memo that Shadows had the best day one launch out of any of its games on the PlayStation Store.
