An investigation by Le Monde has shown that members of the Security Group for the Presidency of the Republic (GSPR) have been openly displaying their location on the popular software during their workout sessions. This revelation indicates a serious lapse in security protocol, as these bodyguards’ activities made it relatively straightforward for anyone to deduce President Macron’s location based on the data shared on Strava.
The situation is particularly concerning because Macron's security guards record and publish their runs on the platform. But there's a problem: They are sharing geolocalized information publicly, which poses a significant risk to his safety. If bodyguards are casually sharing their routes online, it could potentially allow anyone with malicious intent to track their movements and infer critical details about the President's itinerary.
