Patricia Arquette on Trump, communes, art and ageing: When I was growing up the whole world was pretty creepy'
Briefly

Patricia Arquette discusses her role as Harmony Cobel in the Apple TV+ series Severance, a show that critiques work-life balance and corporate culture. Cobel, a controlling figure within the mysterious Lumon Industries, embodies the themes of indoctrination and self-deception prevalent in the show. While Arquette finds sympathy for her character, she acknowledges the complexities of morality in a dystopian setting. The series transitions from quirky to intensely dark, revealing more about the characters' motivations and emotional turmoil, especially in the upcoming episode where the backstory of Cobel will be further explored.
I kind of feel sorry for everyone. There's a lot of self-deception, a lot of wanting to belong, of wilful ignorance and then just a lot of trickery and deception.
To be so indoctrinated by a thought system or organisation... obviously, she's done some things that are reprehensible, but like all people who do bad things, they always have reasons.
