The fitness industry has a lot to answer for: untenable beauty standards, intolerable influencers, toxic gym culture, and rampant misinformation. The counting methods of instructors often feel cruel and torturous.
I prefer class-based workouts because I'm naturally lazy and respond well to authority. Numbers in fitness, from BMI to rep counts, feel daunting, creating a sense of personal victimization.
