Owens and Dimkova are blending early-stage investments with in-house incubation, attracting limited partners to Initiate Ventures with their unique healthcare focus.
"Incubation is a model that's worked really well for life sciences in the past," Dimkova stated, pointing to successful firms like Flagship Pioneering that launched Moderna.
The co-founders plan to invest between $500,000 to $3 million in existing startups, while also launching new ventures, with one acting as interim CEO.
Dimkova highlighted that Initiate’s distinct focus on health and life sciences, as opposed to general tech, uniquely positions their firm in the venture landscape.
