Kaitlyn Glancy, a New York-based partner at Eclipse, noted that the pandemic led to a surge in interest for fixing legacy issues in supply chain and transportation, stating, "Since then there has been a noticeable rise in companies looking to fix these industries' woes and these startups are increasingly popping up on the East Coast."
Glancy emphasized the historical industrial significance of the Northeast, asserting, "If you look at like the deep industrial ecosystem of New York, and the broader Northeast, there's a strong industrial history." She highlighted the connectivity between founders and their family's industrial background, stating, "They're pulling on that."
The establishment of the New York office aims to strengthen ties with existing investments, as Glancy mentioned, "This office also allows the firm to set up a local hub for the companies it has already backed in New York and beyond on the East Coast."
Eclipse's expansion signifies its commitment to seeking out new opportunities, with Glancy stating, "There's a lot of opportunity here" as the firm aligns itself with the dynamics of the evolving industrial landscape on the East Coast.
